Jehovah Rapha

Wow...what a great day we had yesterday at church. It is always moving to say thank you to our veterans. It was also wonderful to thank our WWII vets. They are indeed a special group of people who sacrificed a lot for our freedoms.

Today I have done some reading from Exodus 15. I am looking forward to sharing a message about Jehovah Rapha (God is our Healer) this Sunday morning. If you know someone who is hurting and needs to be encouraged to turn to God...this would be a great Sunday to invite them.

Please keep me in your prayers this week as I prepare this message. It is my hope that God will use it to encourage people to turn to Him with their hurts.

Thank You Hickory Grove!

Good Morning!

Let me begin by expressing my appreciation to you for your prayers and support of our revival this week. It was encouraging to come out each night and see the tangible evidence of your support. Also, thank you for being such an encouragement to Bro. Don Mathis our evangelist for the week. We saw many decisions and there is no doubt that God blessed our church!

This Sunday we will be looking at the 23rd Psalm as we continue in our series "Knowing God on a First Name Basis." This week we will be answering the question "Why is God Worth Following?" I am really looking forward to sharing this classic text with you and bringing it to a modern day application. Please be in prayer for our service and please join me in praying that God would help someone this week to see their need to follow Him!

Blessings!

Revival!

I am very excited about our Revival that begins this week with Don Mathis. I think you will be thrilled with the passion and preaching of Don Mathis. Don is truly a gift to the church and we are going to be blessed this week. Let me begin by challenging each of us to ask God to remove anything in our lives that are a hindrance to us experiencing God's best in our lives. One thing we know from scripture is that revival does not happen apart from repentance. Revival is not a series of services that a church plans....but rather God's response to His children getting right with Him.

Each night after revival I am going to post some reflections that I have from the services. Also, I am going to share some of my hopes for the following nights service. Let me encourage you to stop by this post often and also continue to pray for our week of cleansing and renewal. I am praying for a great week!

Still trusting God to do great things!

Sunday Surprise

Well we had another really great day of worship yesterday. I really enjoyed preparing and delivering the message on Adonai. It truly is my prayer that this new series will be a real blessing for you.

Now this Sunday will be full of surprises....I am sure of that. This week Bill Clark (a.k.a Sonshine) will be preaching. One thing is for sure....when Bill Clark speaks there is not a dull moment!

Bill will be preaching on the name Jehovah-Jirah. Bill will remind everyone that God is faithful to provide. Check back often this week because Bill will be providing updates as he prepares his message for this week.

Also, please be in prayer for me as I will be in revival this week.

Blessings!

Adonai

Well this week we begin our series "Knowing God on a first name basis." Over the next few weeks we will be studying four names for God and see what they teach us about the nature of God. This Sunday (Oct 21, 2007) we will be looking at the name Adonai. Adonai means "Lord" or "Master." What kind of implications does the name Adonai have on the believer who truly acknowledges God as "Adonai?"

This Sunday we are going to look at three ways our lives will be impacted whenever we acknowledge Adonai. I think you will find this study both interesting and challenging. Also, I believe this message needs to be heard because believers today truly need to evaluate the impact that Adonai can make in their lives.

Our text for Sunday will be Ephesians 5:15-21. I am so pumped about being able to share this message. I can't wait to see you Sunday morning!

Blessings

Between Sundays

I am excited about Between Sundays. The purpose of this blog is to prepare our church and guests for Sunday worship. Each week I will provide information (text, subject, questions) about Sunday's message for you to use as you prepare for our worship services. All too often people come to church, listen to a message and leave without giving it a second thought. It is my hope that when we come prepared to hear the message that we will leave better equipped to apply the truths that we have heard.

I look forward to providing this information for you. I hope that it will be a blessing to me and to you both.

Have a Great Week!

Bro. Will (a.k.a PW)
